Top tips for first-time renters #QuickTips
Stepping in to the renting world for the very first time can be a daunting prospect because of the many property options available in London. But really it’s just about taking a little time to do some background research before you sign up to a rental contract.
At Leonard Leese we want to take all the fuss out of this process for you so here’s a few points to consider –
-
Check the agents online reviews – allAgents.co.uk, Google reviews before formally offering on a property to rent
-
Ask to see a template tenancy agreement before formally offering and placing a holding deposit
-
Confirm how your security deposit will be protected exactly
-
Check water pressure on the viewing
-
Ideally try to view with all decision makers/flat mates present so you can offer straight away if you find the perfect property
-
As well as registering with agents online through their website, Rightmove, Zoopla etc, visit the agent’s offices that serve the core area of your search to meet the agents face-to-face. In the summer months, some properties do not make it to Rightmove so you want to be at the top of the agent’s list!
We have a large database of apartments and houses available to rent in SE1 and surrounding areas, most of which area in popular locations for transport links around the city. So why not pop in for a coffee and initial chat, your perfect property could be waiting!
